is the chairperson for the Department of Military Science. He is a 1996 graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Eastern Michigan University and is a native of Waterford, Michigan. He has a master’s degree in policy management from Georgetown University and a master's of education from Old Dominion University. He has held numerious leadership positions from the platoon level to action officer in the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon. His most recent assignment was with 1-7, Air Defense Artillery, (Patriot) Battalion located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he served as the Battalion Executive Officer.

is the executive officer for the Spartan Battalion. He is a 1997 graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Eastern Michigan University. MAJ McFadden deployed in 2002 as Casualty Officer, and 2005 as C1 Plans Officer, CFLCC (Coalition Forces Land Component Command). He held additional assignments as Operations Officer, Eighth Army (CONUS) and Commanded the 478th Human Resources Company at Fort Douglas, Salt Lake City, Utah. His most recent assignment was with the DA Secretariat, Human Resources Command located at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

is the training officer for the Spartan Battalion. He graduated in 2002 from Indiana University and went on to serve with the 172nd SBCT during Operation Iraqi Freedom 2005-2006. Mr. Ashton came to the Spartan Battalion from Indiana University where he served as the MS II instructor. In addition to his duties with the Spartan Battalion, he is currently assigned to an Army Reserve Unit located in Michigan.

is the MS 3 instructor. CPT Nelson is a Field Artillery Officer who was commissioned from Michigan State University ROTC in 2005 after receiving a BA in History. Upon graduation from the Officer Basic Course at Fort Sill, He was assigned to Fort Bragg where he deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. He has held numerous leadership positions at Fort Bragg including Platoon Leader and Battery Commander. CPT Nelson’s previous assignment was Battery Commander for Charlie Battery, 1-321 Airborne Field Artillery Regiment.

is the MS 1 instructor. He is a graduate of Union College's ROTC program and earned his undergraduate degree in economics. Mr. Drake has served with the 173rd Airborne and 3rd Ranger Battalion with multiple deployments to both Afghanistan and Iraq.

is an enrollment officer. His Army experience includes over 30 years in both the enlisted and officer ranks. He served in the Field Artillery branch, Civil Affairs branch, in various command and staff positions and on one combat deployment to Iraq. Andy currently serves as a USAR Operations Officer for the 308th Civil Affairs Brigade in Homewood, IL.

He holds a master's degree in education from Central Michigan University. Mr. Mulvaney has held numerious positions in the armor branch and operation research field during his nine years as a commissioned officer.
