CPT Brian VanSingel
CPT Brian VanSingel is the MS IV Instructor for the Spartan Battalion. He currently has 21 years of military service. As a high school junior, he enlisted in 2000 in a Field Artillery Battery in the Michigan Army National Guard. For the last 17 years, he has served on an active duty tour as an Active Guard Reservist (AGR). In 2011, he was promoted to Sergeant First Class and completed Officer Candidate School (OCS) as the Distinguished Honor Graduate. After deferring his commission for 2 years, he commissioned in 2013. He has served as a Battalion S3, Battalion Operations Officer, Brigade Plans Officer, Company Commander and various positions as a Noncommissioned Officer. CPT VanSingel is a graduate of Multifunctional Logistics Captains Career Course, Financial Management Officer Branch Qualification Course and Human Resource Management Qualification Course. He holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Central Michigan University, a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan – Dearborn, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at Eastern Michigan University. CPT VanSingel is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He began his assignment with the Spartan Battalion in July of 2021.
