CPT Nicholas McCahill
CPT Nicholas McCahill is the MS I Instructor. Also, he serves as the Training Operations Officer for the Spartan Battalion. CPT McCahill enlisted in the Regular Army after high school in 2002 and served as an Infantryman with 2nd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division. While there, he deployed twice to Iraq. The first in 2003 as a Door and Saw Gunner. The second, in 2005 as a Sniper Team Leader. After joining the Army Reserve in 2008, he was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 330th Infantry Regiment as a Drill Sergeant Candidate. In 2009, after graduating Drill Sergeant School, he was mobilized from 2010-2011 to Fort Benning as an Infantry OSUT Drill Sergeant. In 2013, he was prompted to SFC. He was direct commissioned as an Engineer Officer in 2015. CPT McCahill has served as a XO/Operations Officer and a Company Commander for three Infantry Drill Sergeant Companies and one Engineer Multi Role Bridge Company. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Columbia College and a Master's degree in Geological Engineering from Missouri S&T. CPT McCahill became an Assistant Professor of Military Science at MSU in summer of 2023.
