SISOURANEWPHOTO   LTC Oroch "Koky" Sisoura is the Chairperson for the Department of Military Science. LTC Sisoura is an alumnus of Michigan State University and the Spartan Battalion. He first entered service in 2005, commissioning as a Military Intelligence Officer with a branch detail to the Armor branch. He has served in both, the active and reserve components in U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) and U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) organizations. He has five deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom from 2007 to 2015. Koky’s commitment to organizational development and education has allowed him to earn a Master’s of Arts degree Intelligence Studies in addition to his leadership, staff, and command assignments. LTC Sisoura assumed duties as the 47TH Professor of Military Science for the “Spartan Battalion” beginning in August 2023.

   CPT Hunter Baudoindajoux is the Executive Officer and MS III Instructor for the Spartan Battalion. He commissioned to the Infantry through the United States Military Academy in 2013. CPT Baudoindajoux served as a Platoon Leader in 2-4IN and a Company Executive Officer in 2-2IN in 3/10 MTN, Fort Polk, LA. CPT Baudoindajoux served as Brigade Planner and commanded B Co, 1-8IN and HHC, 1-8IN in 3/4 ID, Fort Carson, CO. He has deployed three times. CPT Baudoindajoux is a native of Lafayette, Lousiana.

REYESPHOTO    MSG James Reyes is the Senior Military Instructor for MS IV for the Spartan Battalion. He is a native of Killeen, Texas. MSG Reyes enlisted in the Army in January 2005 out of Arlington, TX. Enlisting as 13D Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data Systems Operator, he attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Sill, OK. MSG Reyes has served as an Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data Systems (AFATDS) Operator, Fire Control SGT, Fire Control NCO, Recruiter, Master Gunner and First Sergeant. He has three deployments to Iraq and one to Afghanistan. MSG Reyes’ military education includes Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Air Assault, Army Recruiting School, Field Artillery Master Gunner Course and Digital Master Gunner Course. His civilian education includes an Associate’s degree in Electronic Computer Technology, a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Information and a Master’s of Science degree in Project Management. MSG Reyes assumed duties as the Senior Military Instructor in the Spartan Battalion on January 10, 2023.

ONDOVCSIK   CPT Brian VanSingel is the MS IV Instructor for the Spartan Battalion. He currently has 21 years of military service. As a high school junior, he enlisted in 2000 in a Field Artillery Battery in the Michigan Army National Guard. For the last 17 years, he has served on an active duty tour as an Active Guard Reservist (AGR). In 2011, he was promoted to Sergeant First Class and completed Officer Candidate School (OCS) as the Distinguished Honor Graduate.  After deferring his commission for 2 years, he commissioned in 2013.  He has served as a Battalion S3, Battalion Operations Officer, Brigade Plans Officer, Company Commander and various positions as a Noncommissioned Officer. CPT VanSingel is a graduate of Multifunctional Logistics Captains Career Course, Financial Management Officer Branch Qualification Course and Human Resource Management Qualification Course. He holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Central Michigan University, a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan – Dearborn, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at Eastern Michigan University. CPT VanSingel is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He began his assignment with the Spartan Battalion in July of 2021.

  Thomas Zeisser 

 

 

   MSG Thomas Zeisser is the MS III Assistant Instructor for the Spartan Battalion. He has been in the United States Army for over 18 years. As an Infantry Non-commissioned Officer, he has held every leadership position from Team Leader to First Sergeant. MSG Zeisser has three deployments in support of combat operations in both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

mccahillphoto   CPT Nicholas McCahill is the MS II Instructor. Also, he serves as the Training Operations Officer for the Spartan Battalion. CPT McCahill enlisted in the Regular Army after high school in 2002 and served as an Infantryman with 2nd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division. While there, he deployed twice to Iraq. The first in 2003 as a Door and Saw Gunner. The second, in 2005 as a Sniper Team Leader. After joining the Army Reserve in 2008, he was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 330th Infantry Regiment as a Drill Sergeant Candidate. In 2009, after graduating Drill Sergeant School, he was mobilized from 2010-2011 to Fort Benning as an Infantry OSUT Drill Sergeant. In 2013, he was prompted to SFC. He was direct commissioned as an Engineer Officer in 2015. CPT McCahill has served as a XO/Operations Officer and a Company Commander for three Infantry Drill Sergeant Companies and one Engineer Multi Role Bridge Company. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Columbia College and a Master's degree in Geological Engineering from Missouri S&T. CPT McCahill became an Assistant Professor of Military Science at MSU in summer of 2023.

NYHUSNEWPHOTO    SFC Ryan Nyhus is the MS II Assistant Instructor for the Spartan Battalion. He has served in the US Army for 13 years, holding every leadership position as an Infantryman from Team Leader through Platoon Sergeant. He is a two-time All Army Combatives competitor and is a recipient of the Order of Saint Maurice. His assignments include: Fort Riley, KS; Fort Carson, CO; New England Recruiting BN and Fort Hood, TX. He has deployed twice, Iraq ’07-’08, and Afghanistan ’10-’11. He has also completed two rotations to The Republic of South Korea ’15-’16 and ’17-’18.

KATZPHOTO   CPT Gabriella Katz is the MS I instructor for the Spartan Battalion. A graduate of Norwich University, she received her commission as a 2LT in the Ordnance Corps in 2015. CPT Katz served as the Battalion Maintenance Officer in 2nd Brigade, 14th Infantry Regiment at Fort Drum, NY before volunteering to transfer into the Armor Branch in 2016. CPT Katz served as a Scout Platoon Leader in 4th Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment at Fort Cavazos, TX. She deployed with the Regiment to Iraq from 2018-2019. In 2020, she served as the Armor Proponent Officer for the Office of the Chief of Armor at Fort. Moore, GA. She then took command of the Opposition Force (OPFOR) Tank Company - H. Co, 2nd Squadron, 11th ACR (2021-2022) and HHT, 2nd Squadron, 11th ACR (2022-2023) at the National Training Center, Fort. Irwin, CA. CPT Katz became an Assistant Professor of Military Science at MSU in summer of 2023.

HEBERTHCATINPHOTO   SFC Heberth Catin is the MS III Assistant Instructor for the Spartan Battalion. Sergeant Catin has served in the United States Army for 16 years as an Infantryman. He has operated in light, mechanized and Bradley infantry brigades and has held every leadership position from Team Leader to First Sergeant. Sergeant Catin has served in D Company, 1-502nd Infantry Regiment at Fort Campbell, KY., Able Company 2-69th Armor and 1-50th Infantry Battalion as a Drill Sergeant in Fort Benning, GA., 1-23rd Infantry Regiment and most recently served as the First Sergeant of Hellcat Troop, 1-14th CAV at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. SFC Catin has participated in Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Cobra Gold in Thailand and Korea and assisted in the training of the Mexican Army.

ybarrainterimphoto   SFC Antonio Ybarra is the National Guard Liaison/Recruiter and MS I Assistant Instructor for the Spartan Battalion. SFC Ybarra began his career in 2007 as a Motor Transport Operator (88M) before conversion to an Infantryman (11B). From 2008-2014, he was assigned to 3d Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. From 2014-2017, SFC Ybarra was assigned to the Georgia Army National Guard Long Range Surveillance Unit (GALRS) and attached to the Warrior Training Center (WTC), where he served on Active Duty Operational Support (ADOS) as a Ranger Instructor (RI) with WTC and 4th Ranger Training Battalion (RTB). In 2017, SFC Ybarra began an Active Guard Reserve (AGR) position within the Michigan Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion. While in MIARNG, he has served as a Recruiter, Admin and Training NCO, BN Operations NCO, Station Commander and now as the MSU Recruiter with the Spartan Battalion. SFC Ybarra has two deployments to Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom) and 4 deployments to Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom). SFC Ybarra also has three daughters, Jordyn, Taylor and Kinsley.

    Mr. Robert H. Sullivan is the Enrollment Officer for the Spartan Battalion. He graduated from the Citadel in 2000 and went on to serve in the 3rd BDE, 3rd ID during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Robb deployed again in support of OIF in November of 2007 with the 4th BDE, 10th MTN DIV (LI). Mr. Sullivan came to the Spartan Battalion from various contractor positions with TACOM and the TSA. In addition to his duties here at MSU, he is currently a US Army Reserve Officer assigned to the 406th CSSB located in Ann Arbor, MI.

TOMENTERLINEPHOTO   MAJ (Retired) Thomas Enterline is the Supply Technician for the Spartan Battalion. Tom served in the US Army for 26 years and first enlisted in 1991 as a Signals Intelligence Analyst and Linguist. After graduating from Michigan State University and the Army ROTC in 2001, he served as a Signal Corps Officer and eventually retired in 2017. Tom has held the positions of Platoon Leader, Company Commander, Aide-de-Camp, Brigade Communications Officer (S6), Battalion Executive Officer and Joint Special Operations Chief Information Officer (J6). Tom has lived and served all over the US, Germany, Kuwait and Korea and has been deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, Jordan and Turkey. After retirement, Tom worked at the MSU Army ROTC Spartan Battalion as an Associate Professor of Military Science, teaching both MS I and MS II students. Tom holds a Master's of Science degree in Administration from Central Michigan University, a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Human Resources from Michigan State University and is a graduate of the US Army Command & General Staff College.

 Adriana's photo   Mrs. H. Adriana Feldpausch is the Operations Manager for the Department of Military Science. Mrs. Feldpausch administers the department's daily operations including human resources; finances; marketing; outreach development and event planning & coordination. Adriana also manages facility and academic affairs for the department.  Mrs. Feldpausch joined Michigan State University in Spring of 1996. During her tenure at MSU, she has served in broad-ranging roles. Adriana was raised in Venezuela, is fully bilingual in English and Spanish and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University.  She is also a Certified Human Resources Specialist and holds an MSU ERA certification in Grant Administration. She joined the Spartan Battalion in January of 2020.
